Top lists / Water for dogs
Best bottled water for dogs
Tap water safe for you is usually fine for your dog. For trips or poor tap water, these plain still waters are low in sodium.
Criterion: Still, unflavoured spring, mineral or artesian water with published sodium of 20 mg/L or less and TDS or dry residue of 300 mg/L or less, from the brand’s own verified analysis. Flavoured, sparkling, electrolyte, distilled and purified waters are left out. Ranked by Waterphile Score.
Not veterinary advice. If your pet has a urinary, kidney or heart condition, or a vet-prescribed diet, ask your vet what to give it to drink.
Why it matters
Vet sources agree that dogs need fresh, clean water available all the time, and that tap water safe for people is generally safe for dogs. Bottled water is useful on trips or where tap or well water is unsafe. Distilled and purified waters lack minerals and may not be the best everyday choice. Never give flavoured or sweetened drinks: some contain xylitol or caffeine, which are toxic to dogs. How scores work →

FAQ
Is bottled water better for dogs than tap water?
Usually not. Vet sources say tap water that is safe for people is generally safe for dogs. Bottled water helps on trips or where tap or well water is unsafe.
Can dogs drink distilled water?
Occasionally, but pet-care sources say distilled and purified waters lack minerals and may not be the best everyday choice. Ask your vet before using them long term.
